OLYMPIC SIZE INDOOR SWIMMING POOL

The Olympic size indoor swimming pool was opened with a magnificent ceromony on 19 May 1997. The area of the Olympic Swimming pool is two thousand  700 hundred meters squared , 16 meters deep, the interior dimensionsare  50x21 meters. The Mass of the water is 3 thousand 100 tons. There is also a central heating system . There are seats to hold up to 1000 spectacors. The modern interior design and the cosy atmosphere of the cafe are also  features of the one and only indoor swimming pool of the island. The pool is designed for swimming and diving competitions , water- polo and  water  ballet

SWIMMING SPORTS

The sport of swimming is one of the enjoyable ways of staying healthy. There is no age limit to it. Mums, dads, even new born babies enjoy moving in the water. People who are active in diffrent sports love  to take  part in swimming activities too.

Swimming  keeps you fit. The purpose of the Olympic Swimming pool is to make swimming part of your life.Introducing a  new way of living for you.

HOW CAN WE BENEFIT FROM THE OLYMPIC SWIMMING POOL

The swimming pool is open to the public. The opening hours are from 08:00 am - 20:00 pm.There are 14 experienced swimming teachers avaliable to help you.

Avaliable courses are:  swimming, water -polo, diving, water ballet... etc

In past years our course attendences  have been  around  500. This number has increased to 4000 in  2001. Since 1999 '' aerobic step'' has been taking place. Our University also has a hotel + teaches swimming pool maintenance.

Our University is also presenting options to world wide swimming clubs to camp in our country and take part in our swimming activities.
